Setting up Custom Email on Google / Gmail App

If you prefer using the Google ecosystem, you can route your custom domain email through the official Gmail mobile app or fetch it directly into your desktop Gmail inbox using standard IMAP/SMTP server protocols.

Option A: Adding to the Gmail Mobile App (Android & iPhone)

  1. Open the Gmail app on your mobile device.
  2. Tap your profile picture/initial in the top right corner and select Add another account.
  3. Choose Other from the list of email providers.
  4. Type in your full custom email address, then tap Next.
  5. Select Personal (IMAP) as the account type.
  6. Enter your password, then fill out the Incoming Server Settings using your secure mail server hostname (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com), Security Type: SSL/TLS, and Port: 993.
  7. Fill out the Outgoing SMTP Server Settings using Port: 465 and Security Type: SSL/TLS.

Option B: Fetching Mail into Desktop Gmail (Web Browser)

If you want to read and reply to your custom business email directly within your personal web-based Gmail account:

  1. Log into your Gmail account on your desktop browser.
  2. Click the Gear Icon (Settings) in the top right, then select See all settings.
  3. Go to the Accounts and Import tab.
  4. Scroll down to Check mail from other accounts and click Add a mail account.
  5. Follow the popup wizard to enter your email address and your incoming server details (use Port 995 with POP3 if you are pulling mail into a master inbox, or use the Gmail App for clean IMAP syncing).
  6. To reply from this email, go to Send mail as on the same settings page and add your custom SMTP server details.
